We work to bring people together.
Working with different volunteer groups. we’re sometimes asked why we don’t use automated manufacturing equipment to combine the dry ingredients that create our finished meals.
In fact, we understand that packaging the same meals inside a warehouse with machinery would actually be both faster and a little bit cheaper.
But if we automated our meal packaging process, we would lose the opportunity to bring thousands of volunteers together each year. By literally having people work together at the meal packaging table, communities can address local food insecurity while connecting with each other.
